Mission and objectives of Department of physics
1. Preparing scientific cadres who are capable of dealing with academic scientific research methods and applications.
2. Contributing to meeting the needs of the country for specialists in physics and its applications.
3. Raising the scientific level of the students, which qualifies them for postgraduate studies in order to pursue research and development in physics
4. Delivering scientific knowledge to Iraq and implementing it locally in a way that improves education across the country.
5. The Department of Physics pays special attention to studies in pure and applied sciences to qualify students theoretically and practically, making them able to pursue their higher studies and to play a distinguished role in research, development, and work in scientific, industrial, and educational facilities.
