1. Undergraduate studies laboratories
There are ten laboratories in the Physics Department for undergraduate studies. Each laboratory can accommodate about twenty-five students. All of these laboratories are furnished with laboratory furniture and contain various glassware and some other laboratory equipment, distributed among the department’s ten laboratories, which are
– Electrical and Magnetic Laboratory.
– Mechanics and material properties laboratory.
– Electron laboratory.
– Modern Physics Laboratory.
– Thermal Physics Laboratory.
– Laser physics laboratory.
– Optics Laboratory.
– Nuclear Physics Laboratory.
– Solid state physics laboratory.
– Earth science laboratory

2. Computer lab
The students of the Physics Department are involved in the Computer Laboratory in cooperation with the IT Unit, whose laboratories include an integrated set of computers and are equipped with the latest programs and applications.
The laboratories of the IT unit were also accredited to conduct electronic examinations for the department’s students, which was recently approved by the Deanship of the College of Science.

3. Research laboratories
The Department of Physics has a number of research laboratories for research professors, graduate students, and students of research projects. Some research equipment is available in the research laboratories. The research laboratories in the department include:
– Radiation physics laboratory.
– Polymer Research Laboratory.
– Thin Film Physics Research Laboratory.

The research directions in the Department of Physics are:
– Nuclear physics.
– Medical physics.
– Thin films.
– Theoretical physics.
– Lasers and their applications.
