Biology is both influenced by and influential on life itself. It is the discipline that studies every organism, regardless of its size, examining both its positive and negative impacts. Harmonizing with modern scientific technologies, it comprehends all temporary or permanent phenomena, providing scientific justifications for any occurrence or outbreak of harm. Thus, it mobilizes cognitive frameworks covering all aspects of the phenomenon, offering solutions based on solid scientific principles. The Department of biology is one of the most dynamically social scientific departments, characterized by a wonderfully integrated relationship between students and professors, serving the educational process and aligning with the nature of its scientific subject matter. The department’s teaching staff, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, equip their graduates with immense skills that meet the demands of the job market, driving the wheel of intellectual creativity in the country forward. The Department of Life Sciences has proven itself scientifically and cognitively among the competing departments at our Iraqi universities, thanks to the efforts of its administrative and teaching staff in striving for the highest ratings in quality standards.

Finally, I extend my heartfelt thanks to all my colleagues in the department, who work together seamlessly to fulfill all assigned tasks without hesitation or shortfall. I also express my gratitude to my students in the department, who adhere to all laws and regulations presented to them. May Allah reward you all abundantly.
